About the Aplomado Falcon:
- This medium-sized falcon's range extends from the extreme Southwestern United States, through parts of Mexico, and down through much of South America.
- Listed as Endangered in the US in 1986, there are recovery efforts in place in the US since 1990 to re-establish the Aplomado Falcon.
- Captive bred Aplomado Falcons are used in falconry to hunt smaller bird species, such as Quail.
