About the European Starling:
Considered an invasive species in North America, the European Starling was introduced in 1890 by Eugene Schieffelin who was part of the American Acclimatization Society, a society whose mission was to introduce flora and fauna from the old world to create familiarity in the new world. 
Starlings are responsible for heavy damage to agricultural crops, grains used for production of livestock, and damage to buildings.
European Starlings are excellent mimics. They can reproduce the sounds of other birds, as well as sounds like a phone ringing, a car alarm, or even a human voice.
